The Cottage is the newest lease on life for what was once an old bunkhouse behind our historic 1895 Victorian Farmhouse, on our working farm, Farmstead Hollow.
We have completely gutted and remodeled the bunkhouse (including a brand new heated slab floor), reinventing it as a charming 850 sq/ft house. The Cottage has a full kitchen and bathroom, including washer and dryer, and is fully functional, comfortable, and ready for guests. On the ground floor is the master bedroom with a Queen bed. Upstairs in the loft are an additional three twin beds.
The Cottage is tucked in behind our house, accessed by it's own driveway. There are no windows on the side of The Cottage that faces our house, while the sides that look out onto our peaceful pasturage are nearly entirely window - so the feeling is of seclusion and privacy. We have one distant neighbor - the only part of his house that can be seen from The Cottage is an upstairs attic window.
A small privacy fenced yard completes the cozy retreat theme.
